rob mclennan

Born in Ottawa, rob mclennan currently lives in Ottawa. He has published poetry, fiction and criticism in over two hundred publications, and is the author of fourteen poetry collections, most recently The Ottawa City Project (Chaudiere Books, 2007) and a compact of words (Salmon Publishing, 2007), as well as subverting the lyric: essays (ECW Press, 2007) and Ottawa: The Unknown City (Arsenal Pulp Press, 2007). The editor/publisher of above/ground press, STANZAS magazine, the online pdf poetry annual ottawater (www.ottawater.com) and Poetics.ca (with Stephen Brockwell, www.poetics.ca), he recently founded the Ottawa literary publishing house Chaudiere Books with Jennifer Mulligan. Over the past few years he has edited collections on and/or by George Bowering, Andrew Suknaski, John Newlove, Michael Dennis and William Hawkins, and recently edited an issue of Open Letter, scheduled to appear in spring 2008. He is writer-in-residence at the University of Alberta for the 2007-8 academic year.
