






Brea Burton is originally from Edmonton, where she received her B.A. in Comparative Literature from the University of Alberta. She moved to Calgary and, after working in the corporate communication industry, decided to continue her academic career. In 2006, she completed her M.A. in Contemporary Canadian Literature at the University of Calgary. One of her academic essays was recently published in The Prairies Lost and Found, St. John's College Press.
As part of the Calgary writing scene, she has participated in numerous readings and a variety of local events, including CJSW funding drives, dANDelion magazine launches, and the Flywheel Reading Series. She has also produced a few chapbooks through her imprint one trick pony press. Her poetry has most recently been published in Nöd, filling Station, and Matrix magazines. She has performed at the Poetry and Sexuality Conference in Stirling, Scotland; Toronto’s Lexiconjury Reading Series; and filling Station's Calgary Blow-Out.
